DNA Profiling Worldwide Genetics offers a DNA profiling service that allows you to obtain a record of your DNA profile. A person’s DNA profile never changes, and it may provide valuable information in future unexpected situations such as the following:
-
Identification of missing/abducted children
-
For future DNA testing, such as a paternity test, in case it is required to protect your estate from illegitimate claims
-
To have a record for those working in high-risk situations, in case their remains ever need to be identified
Your genetic profile will consist of 16 different DNA markers—specific portions of DNA useful for human identification. Each marker is present as 2 copies, called alleles, which may have different sizes. The combination of sizes for the 16 pairs of alleles is unique for every individual and does not change over time, creating a permanent genetic ID. In our DNA profiling service, 13 of the markers we use are the CODIS markers used as a worldwide standard. You may also choose our DNA banking service, in which we store your DNA sample at our secure facility. There are many present and future applications for stored DNA that you and your descendants may find valuable. If you choose both banking and profiling services, you will be given a special discounted rate. For more information or to order our DNA profiling service, please use our contact form or call us at 1-800-DNA-8360. |
